This gorgeous ring was named after 17th century Baroque Painter, Artemisia Gentileschi who was the most important female painter of her time and was the first woman to attend the Accademia di Arte del Disegno in Florence. She was also known for her very public rape trial in 1612 against her teacher where during the trial, it was she who was tortured by the court to prove her allegation and innocence. After the trial she channeled repression, injustice and rape into her paintings as a cry for oppressed women, making her a Feminist Hero for her time.

All clothing should be hand washed in warm water and hung to dry, or washed on a gentle cycle. They can also be dry cleaned if you prefer, but you can absolutely wash them at home.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and will naturally tarnish when exposed to oxygen. Oils from your skin and the oxygen in the air are what accelerate tarnishing. Some people like the look of tarnished brass and the tarnish is actually a protective layer, but if you want to get the shine of the new brass, polish it with lime or lemon juice or concentrate.
